Premiere Hockey Services Director of Operations is announcing the signing of three hockey PHS registered American hockey players to Junior A and B hockey clubs for the upcoming 1999-2000 season. A release was in order for Dan Delaney to send the Newmarket Hurricanes of the Provincial Junior A Hockey League the rights to acquire potential Division I college prospect and Minnesota native Andy Scholfield from the Winnipeg Southeast Blades of the Manitoba Junior A Hockey League. The 6' 1" 195 lb defenseman who had stints last season with the Surrey Eagles (BCJHL) and Winnipeg Southeast Blades (MJHL) tallying up (2) Goals (24) Assists (34) Games played. Scholfield is a product of the Minnesota State High School and Junior B hockey system. Andy is currently being scouted by a number of NCAA Division I Ivy League schools for next season and will play for Newmarket this coming season. Also receiving Junior deals were goaltender Donald Goegein (MO) and defenseman Andrew Hoke (MI) who recently signed agreements to play this season for the Boston Junior Blackhawks. The Blackhawks, a Junior B hockey club competes in the Interstate Junior Hockey League located on the East Coast. Hoke a 6' 3" 220 lb rugged defensive defenseman played last season for the West Coast Grizzlie Midgets out of Michigan where he had 4pts in 40 games. Goegein a 6' 0" 190 lb goaltender has played the past two seasons for Francis Powell High School Varsity in Missouri. Goegein was the first goaltender to ever start in goal at Francis High School as a freshmen. |
