The British Super League came a signing and Premiere Hockey Services Director of Hockey Operations Dan Delaney was more than happy to oblige, sending two PHS registered players to the Newcastle RiverKings of the British Super League.
Both defensemen and Cambridge, Ontario born Mark Fox and Gordon Hestor signed contracts this afternoon making them the newest members of the RiverKings organization.
Fox is coming off a terrific season in his first as a professional. He played last season with the Colorado Gold Kings of the West Coast League totaling 6pts in 65 games, played (47) Pim. The 21 year old Fox collected some hardware along the way claiming both "Rookie Of The Year" and "Most Improved Player" honors with the Gold Kings.
Mark Fox is the first ever Junior C hockey player that PHS Director of Hockey Operations and Professional Hockey Scout Dan Delaney has ever placed directly into a professional hockey league camp and made the jump. This will be Mark Fox's first experience playing professional hockey overseas.
Gordon Hestor a 6 foot 200 pound 24 year old defenseman will be joining Fox on Newcastle's blue line this season. Hestor will be entering his first professional season. He tallied 112 points in 111 games played over four seasons at Arizona State University where he captained last years squad.
